Syndicated is a TV show and episode tracker. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Syndicated mobile app and website (the “Service”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We collect as little as we can to run the Service. There is no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking.

To create an account you sign in through our authentication provider, Clerk. Whichever sign-in method you choose, Clerk collects and stores your email address along with your authentication credentials and a unique account identifier. We store a copy of your email address and that identifier on our servers so we can associate your data with your account. We never see or store your password. The core of the Service is the tracking data you build as you use it. This includes:
When you use the Service, our hosting and network providers automatically process standard technical data needed to operate and secure it, such as your IP address, device and browser type (user-agent), and the date, time, and type of your requests. We use this for security, abuse prevention (including rate limiting), and diagnosing problems. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, or cross-app tracking.
The Service is currently free, so we do not collect payment or billing information. We do not collect your contacts, precise location, photos, or health data.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we process your information under these legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (to secure, maintain, and improve the Service), consent (where required), and legal obligation.
We share information only with the service providers that help us run Syndicated (“sub-processors”), and only as needed for them to perform their function:

Show and episode metadata (titles, artwork, air dates, cast) is provided by TheTVDB. When you search or open a show we send TheTVDB the search terms and show identifiers needed to fetch that metadata; we do not send them your identity or your tracking activity. Metadata provided by TheTVDB.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you will be notified of any such change).
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app; you may also manage or delete your identity through Clerk. When you delete your account, we deactivate it and delete or anonymize the personal information associated with it. Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period before they are overwritten. You may also email [email protected] to request deletion.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California and similar jurisdictions have the right to know what we collect and to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]; we will respond as required by applicable law. You may also contact your local data protection authority.
Syndicated is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We protect your information with industry-standard measures: traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS), credentials are managed by Clerk rather than stored by us, and access to your data is limited to what is needed to operate the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We and our providers process data in the United States and other countries. If you access the Service from outside these locations, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in a country with different data-protection laws than your own.
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
